Since glowy remains to be the operative word when it comes to base products, setting sprays have been on the upswing as well, seeing as the claim to provide longevity and a fresh look without the need for powder formulas.
There are many high end offerings in this category such as MAC Fix+ and the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray, but the drugstore is catching up as well.
Case in point – the L’Oreal Infallible Makeup Extender Setting Spray. Much like the rest of the Infallible range, this spray is geared towards creating a fresh and long-lasting face.
Not wanting to commit to another make-up setting spray, I decided to try the travel sized version in order to see if the rave reviews are justified.
The spray is delivered in a fine, even mist and the pump works great as well, something that is often neglected in smaller versions of products. It disperses nicely without much of a heavy fragrance or sting to it and dries down considerably quickly.
Over powder and more matte bases, it actually manages to take away a good amount of cake and heaviness and gives a bit of dew back to the skin without making it look greasy.
My make-up lasts through a whole working day with this, but I do also use primers before my foundation that help with longevity as well. As always, there is some creasing under the eyes and around my dehydrated forehead area, but I didn’t think that a spray would rectify that anyway.
If you’re dipping your toes in the setting spray pool, this is a great option in my opinion. After all, make-up setting sprays are much of the same – it either works or it doesn’t.
